This usually results after consuming excess wheat based foods such as bread, rolls, cakes and many desserts such as pudding. Even those who are tolerant of wheat can have a bloating and slow waste disposal problem with it when eaten in excess. That old saying… ‘over the lips and onto the hips’ can sure come true fast after the holiday seasons.
Maybe your overfull feeling could be caused by excess alcohol. Most people can tolerate a few drinks but it could become excess. Your body doesn’t cope very well with excess alcohol or caffeine and requires an extra equal amount of water to counteract it. It’s advised to have lots of water after a drinking session and if you drink water between alcohol drinks you will be pleasantly surprised about how you reduce a hangover.
To fix a problem with overeating you should consider the following.
• Go without wheat based foods for one to three days
• Pour 2 litres of water into a glass bottle and drink it by the evening meal time
• Eat dried prunes, lemon juice, garlic, ginger and artichokes
• Eat lots of fruit and vegetables accompanied by nuts, eggs and a little cottage cheese for a few days. Tiny treats are OK.
• Use a smaller plate and eat less
• Chew slowly and enjoy each mouthful as nutrition for your body
• If you are starting a health program to lose fat then start it now
Many think they can fix a problem with overeating by going straight back to their usual diet at the end of the holiday season. If you do this, the excess waste is still sitting there waiting for the slow process of waste disposal and we all know what that is. The method to fix a problem with overeating described above will speed up the process and get the body functions cleared for action.
Keep in mind that your digestive enzymes are meant to get your food working for you. If you drink while digesting the swallowed food you could weaken this process. It’s best to have a drink of water about fifteen minutes before a meal and don’t drink during or for about twenty minutes afterwards.
About two hours after eating and after the body functions you could gently massage any bulk in the abdomen to encourage it to soften and move. This will greatly assist flatulence so be prepared and stay clear of your friends. Hey, that may be a surprising way to fix a problem with overeating. You may have noticed before that you have a desire to go to the bathroom and it ends up turning you into a windbag. It’s just as important to move that flatulence so your body can function correctly and fix a problem with overeating.
OK, you can go ahead and say this is a whole lot of hogwash (more likely to be hog meat at Christmas) but it works for me and thousands of others. Can we be wrong? Yes, you could have a very occasional gorging meal if you make up for it this way to fix a problem with overeating. It feels so much better.
How do you judge a treat? I wonder how many readers cheat with treats. That’s OK, most do but you don’t do yourself any favours. A treat should be a very small portion compared to a portion of healthy food. That is, if you have an apple sitting on a plate it would compare to a very thin slice of light cake with very little filling and topping and only once in a few days.
You may notice I’m not measuring and counting. If you do then make sure you are not too focused on it. If you concentrate on this when you fix a problem with overeating you may find yourself concentrating on food too much. I’m more likely to eat a lot less if I just choose something healthy when I’m hungry.
With all things considered it’s much easier to maintain a good diet, even in holiday times, than to have to fix a problem with overeating every time you splurge on extremely unhealthy foods. This would save your body from overworking to remedy it.
You may say to yourself you don’t care about being overweight or about overeating. In that case consider that maintaining your weight and to fix a problem with overeating will maintain your body health for years to come. You are really what you eat. Get it right and you lessen the chance of low quality older life. Eat healthy and be healthy, if not for yourself then for your family and friends.
